As Notre Dame continues to Cheer Her Name and commemorate 50 years of women’s varsity athletics, the University hosted 350 women’s varsity student-athletes at campus events throughout the weekend of the Notre Dame–Purdue football game.
Guests were welcomed to a reception in Heritage Hall on Friday before attending the Notre Dame–Michigan volleyball game at Purcell Pavilion. They cheered on the Fighting Irish and were then invited to a private shopping opportunity at the Leep Varsity Shop.
The excitement ramped up on Saturday with Pete’s Pregame, the Monogram Club Tailgate, and the Notre Dame–Purdue football game. Alumnae had the opportunity to gather on the sideline of the football field before the game, where they were honored by thousands of cheering fans, fellow alumni, parents, and friends.

Rev. Nate Wills, C.S.C., Ph.D., presided over a postgame Mass for Monogram Club members at the Joyce Center.
The weekend culminated on Sunday in another opportunity to visit Notre Dame Stadium for breakfast and to step foot on the field.
The Cheer Her Name weekend events highlighted the 4 For Forever promise that Notre Dame makes to all our student-athletes, who will always have a home under the Dome. We remain grateful to Rockne Athletics Fund donors, who foster this great sense of belonging by providing the resources all our student-athletes need to compete at the highest level and represent the Fighting Irish.
