Throughout September and October, we welcomed members of the Order of St. Thomas More and John Cardinal O’Hara Society to campus for private events with the deans of the Notre Dame Law School and the Mendoza College of Business. These experiences not only shed light on the deans’ priorities but also offered a time of celebration and reflection on the incredible impact these members make on the University’s future.

Celebrations began with Donuts with the Dean on September 20, before the Law School Homecoming. Over 50 Order of St. Thomas More members gathered in the Eck Hall of Law atrium with Joseph A. Matson Dean and Professor of Law, Marcus Cole. Members and their families enjoyed donuts from four local bakeries in a festive atmosphere before heading to the Homecoming tailgate on Debartolo Quad.

Law Dean’s Circle members returned on October 17 for Dinner with the Deans, a combined event with the Business Dean’s Circle. Both Dean Cole and Martin J. Gillen Dean and Bernard J. Hank Professor of Finance, Martijn Cremers, together with their spouses, gathered with guests to honor members’ invaluable contributions to the University.

Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour followed by dinner, drinks, and desserts at 1842—a premier venue overlooking the field at Notre Dame Stadium. The program included remarks from the deans and honored guests.

The following morning, before the football game against USC, John Cardinal O’Hara Society members sipped Mimosas with Martijn in the Dean’s Suite. They heard remarks from Dean Cremers about his vision for the College and then were invited to see the new Trading Room on the first floor of Mendoza. Dean Cremers thanked O’Hara Society members for continuing to Grow the Good in BusinessTM.

These annual events remind us of the difference each member makes in the lives of our law and graduate business students. Every year, our Giving Society members choose to put our students first, and we are blessed to have their unwavering dedication as we find new and exciting ways to serve our community. Thank you to all who shared their mornings and evenings with us this fall!
