Housed in the Mendoza College of Business, Notre Dame’s Powerful Means Initiative (PMI) offers Mendoza students experiential learning opportunities to address some of the most pressing global issues today. PMI’s latest initiative involves a collaboration with St. Bakhita’s Vocational Training Center in Uganda to open an Early Childhood Development Center.

The center will provide safe, educational spaces for children of young mothers who are learning vocational skills at St. Bakhita’s.

Designed by Notre Dame students and local stakeholders, the ECDC aims to break the cycle of poverty by supporting both the mothers’ education and their children’s early development.

The initiative is a testament to Notre Dame’s commitment to global impact. John Cardinal O’Hara Society members invest in the next generation of Notre Dame business leaders, giving them access to experiential learning opportunities like this and teaching them how to make a real difference for people worldwide.
