On Friday evening of the Notre Dame–USC football weekend, the Sorin Society hosted members at the second-annual Sorin Reception. Guests gathered in the Downes Club at Notre Dame Stadium for an evening of connection and celebration.
It was a full and lively room; new and longtime members enjoyed the opportunity to meet one another, reconnect with old friends, and celebrate their shared commitment to Notre Dame. The Notre Dame Cheer Team and Leprechaun brought their energy and spirit to the event, leading members in a cheer and posing for photos throughout the evening.

Associate Directors of the Sorin Society Brooke Speer ’12 and Kate Brown welcomed members and shared their gratitude for the community’s ongoing generosity. The program continued with reflections from Rev. Ralph L. Haag, C.S.C., and PJ Carroll ’26, a current student and resident assistant. PJ spoke about how his experience in residence life has shaped his time at Notre Dame, helping him build lifelong friendships and a deep sense of belonging.
Fr. Ralph shared that he is often asked if he ever feels lonely as a priest. His answer: “No—the students fill me with such joy and fulfillment. Every time a student asks, ‘Can I have a moment with you?’ I am reminded of my purpose.” He closed by expressing his heartfelt gratitude, reminding everyone that the transformative student experience at Notre Dame would not be possible without the generosity of Sorin Society members.
We are deeply grateful to all who joined us and hope every member felt celebrated and appreciated through this special gathering.
