Here are some important year-end gift reminders.
Remember to make your gift online to the University of Notre Dame by December 31 to ensure tax credit and eligibility for the 2020 football ticket lottery. Online gifts completed no later than midnight in your time zone on December 31 will qualify. To make your gift online, go to donate.nd.edu.
IRS guidelines require online credit card transactions be completed by 11:59 p.m. December 31 (based on the time zone in which the gift is made) in order for those gifts to count toward 2019 tax deductibility.
Phoned-in Credit Card Gifts
Phoned-in credit card gifts must be received by 12:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), December 31. To make a gift by phone, call (574) 631-5150. Please have your credit card number, expiration date, and daytime telephone number ready. After 12:00 p.m. on December 31 please use the online giving form at donate.nd.edu.
Mailed Check or Credit Card Gifts
If you prefer, you can send a check or make a credit card gift by mail. If sending a check, it must be postmarked by December 31. If sending a credit card gift by mail, it must be postmarked by Monday, December 16, 2019, to help ensure processing before year-end. Simply send your credit card number, expiration date, daytime telephone number, and instructions regarding your gift designation to University of Notre Dame, Department of Development, 1100 Grace Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46556. The University accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Wire Transfers and ACH Gifts
To receive 2019 credit, these gifts must be received into Notre Dame’s account on December 31, 2019 by 3:00 p.m. EST.
Mutual Fund Transfers
The deadline for mutual fund transfer requests is 12/13/2019.
Securities that are being used to purchase units in the endowment (expendable gifts, pledge payments, capital gifts) must be in the Notre Dame account no later than 4:00 p.m. EST on December 26, 2019 to be credited as a 2019 gift. If stock certificates are mailed, they must be postmarked by December 31, 2019.
