The O’Hara Society is a group of Notre Dame alumni and friends who choose to invest in the next generation of Notre Dame business leaders—leaders who will be guided in their time at Mendoza to carefully consider the role of business in solving global problems and shaping communities.

O'Hara Society
John Cardinal O’Hara, C.S.C.—the first dean of Notre Dame’s College of Commerce, which would later become the Mendoza College of Business—wrote in 1923 that “the primary function of commerce is service to mankind.” Almost one hundred years later, these words still ring true. At Mendoza, students are empowered to become leaders of character with business minds and servant hearts.
Gifts from O’Hara Society members provide crucial financial assistance to graduate business students, ensuring they are able to come to Notre Dame for their formative business education.
O'Hara Society Impact
O’Hara Society members have an incredible impact on Notre Dame’s graduate business students. Through these gifts, students who wish to become purpose-driven leaders in an environment that fosters care for the community and societal responsibility are able to do so. Gifts from members directly impact graduate business students through financial assistance and experiential learning opportunities, such as Mendoza’s signature Business on the Frontlines program. Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business educates leaders who are able to go out and make powerful changes in the world, and O’Hara Society members help these future leaders come to Notre Dame.
