Endowments
Named Endowments
Personalized gift funds are created to make contributions in honor or in memory of someone special to you. You can create a fund in their memory, or contribute to one that's already been set up. To create an endowment, the gift minimum is $100,000. This gift can be directed to different areas across campus. Notre Dame Family Memorial Scholarship Fund
This newly created endowment supporting student scholarships was designed as a way for all Notre Dame families to honor their loved ones with a gift that lasts forever, no matter the size of the contribution.
Obituary Language
Example wording for an obituary, which can be customized to one’s preference and, upon request, paired with a unique giving page:
Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Notre Dame. Please direct your gift to (existing fund) in memory of (loved one’s name). Gifts may be made online at giving.nd.edu, by phone at 574-631-5150, or by mail: University of Notre Dame, Department of Development, 1100 Grace Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
Communication
Bi-monthly updates will be sent to the family and will include the names of donors who made a memorial gift. If memorial funds have not been designated within 60 days, follow-up communications will be sent to the family.
