If Notre Dame's student-athletes and alumni were considered a country, they would have tied for 14th place with Hungary for the most gold medals and shared 21st place with Poland and Belgium for the total number of medals.
Including the Paris games, Notre Dame has seen 118 student-athletes compete at the Olympic games since 1912. Those 118 athletes have won 48 medals.
Notre Dame student-athletes are built differently—and whether they’re representing the Fighting Irish, the United States, or their home country, these men and women are transformed by their time at Notre Dame. Gifts to the Rockne Athletics Fund help power Notre Dame student-athletes with the resources they need to go toe-to-toe with and be the best athletes in the world.
