The University of Notre Dame is one of only 69 universities that pledge to meet 100% of students’ full demonstrated financial need. The University awarded $155 million in need-based scholarships to undergraduates in the 2019-2020 academic year, and 69% of undergraduates received some form of financial aid. The need is significant, and every year we rely on gifts from the Notre Dame family in order to consistently offer aid packages that make it possible for students to attend.
Giving to financial aid is about more than dollars—it’s about making the dream of Notre Dame a reality for so many students. A Notre Dame education provides unsurpassed academic and experiential opportunities. Students are taught by internationally renowned faculty, and they collaborate with some of the brightest young people in the world as they learn to be leaders for a world in need. The University experiences extend beyond the classroom, helping students to grow through service, internships, and research. Notre Dame students also enjoy a distinct campus atmosphere unlike any other, unified by community, faith, friendship, and the pursuit of knowledge.
Financial aid makes all of this possible—it changes lives and shapes futures, enabling students to access the resources, experiences, and networks that make a Notre Dame education so valuable.
