The Badin Guild honors those who make a planned gift to Notre Dame—creating a legacy that advances faith, learning, and service for generations.

Named for Father Stephen Badin—the first Catholic priest ordained in the United States and the benefactor whose land became the University’s home—the Guild recognizes those who have made a planned gift to sustain Notre Dame’s mission for generations to come.

Through gifts established in partnership with the Office of Gift Planning, members make Notre Dame part of their life story—and ensure that the University continues to educate minds and hearts, pursue truth through faith and reason, and serve as a global force for good.

Membership Experiences

Membership in the Badin Guild is reserved for individuals who have made a planned gift to Notre Dame. These gifts—such as bequests, charitable trusts, life-income arrangements, or beneficiary designations—reflect a deep commitment to the University’s future and a belief that the mission of Notre Dame should endure beyond one lifetime.
